Stupid Florida Weather
What is a girl supposed to do? I am trying to do good things for my body and wake up and go running. What does my body say to me this morning. I am thinking it is yelling profanities, but I am sure it is more like giving me a stern talking to. It is hot a humid right now, and I didn't decide to roll out of bed till about 9. SO, by the time I get dressed and on the street it is closer to 9:30. The sun is up and it had just finished sprinkling, so you know the air is going to be thick. I had planned to run for 30 minutes but when I started I could tell my joints just felt stiff, but thankfully I felt all loosy goosy after 5 minutes. I had 1 car and 1 garbage truck honk at me on my run, they must go for the "my shorts are riding up, I am sweating through my t-shirt, and my face is bright red" look. Around minute 20 I knew 30 minutes was going to be a stretch, although I had pulled it off multiple times before, breathing was quite difficult with the air and the heat, the body was willing but my lungs were quitting on me. I forced myself to get to the corner so I ran about 2.5 miles. I went up stairs sweating like...well, like something the sweats A LOT, I will go with an old hairy man so you get a good visual, and grabbed Mya to take her on a walk. Silly thing is during our walk my sweating calmed down and I began to notice what a nice day it was with a pleasant breeze and the sun shinning. Where was that during my run? This is why I am lead to believe my body just likes playing tricks on me, causing me pain, making me hack up things so I can't breath, you know that general all over why am I doing this to myself feeling. After our pleasant walk (my cool down) I got in the shower, eventually had some lunch, and then it hit me the blech feeling all over again. My hip hurts (nothing new there), I have a headache (again I am pretty used to that), really tired (but I slept till 9) and its Monday. So, I buck up head to work grab a latte for the headache and the being tired and I used the foam roller on the hip once I got here. We will see how this all pans out but it is mornings like this that remind me why I like running at night.

Day in the park
Today was a really great day. After a week of work, work, work at PBA, and doing a side job at the USTA boys 12 and under tournament on Thursday for a good 12 hour day, it was nice to have a really great Saturday to do whatever we wanted.
We finally rigged the glass doors in our bedroom so Mya can't see out at night and BARK AT EVERYTHING! So we both got a full night sleep, praise the Lord. Greg was nice enough and let me sleep in, he must know what is good for him. When I was finally up and about we went to Lowes to look at knobs and pulls for the new bedroom furniture we are buying. We are getting solid wood bed, dresser, mirror, 2 side tables for $250! Another great Craigslist find, but we figured some new hardware would spruce it up nicely (pictures to come when it is in our place).
After that we went home to get Mya and we headed out to the park. Christ Fellowship (our church) was having a community outreach party in the park and annual kick ball tournament. It was really fun and a beautiful day, I have the raccoon eyes to show for it. A lot of my athletes, who attend Christ Fellowship, joined a kick ball team and looked very team like in their fancy pink tye dyed t-shirts. Greg, Mya, and I watched them do a lot of kicking, running, and falling. There was a huge turn out though, I think the outreach was a big success, the church got big bounce houses for kids, there was fishing, and snow cone and cotton candy machines, they were grilling and picnicking. I had fun sitting in the sunshine watching my friends play and eating cotton candy, Mya had fun getting a lot of attention from EVERYONE (she's such a flirt), and I think we all were happy to be out and feel apart of something. All in all a great day in the park.
Since we were both in the bright sun-shinny mood we headed home to put a good shine on the house and cleaned for a good hour and a half. Greg vacuumed ("swept"), sticky rolled, and shampooed the carpet and I am sure there is still dog hair in there. When Greg is in the mood to clean I don't get in his way! Freshly showered and with Sloppy Joes in the pot Brooklyn and Rich came over to get whooped at cards and Mario cart, and finish off the Shiraz we opened up. Like I said a great day, and I hope to finish it out the best way possible if you know what I mean ;)

Happy Easter Weekend
What a fun weekend. New faces, fun times, and celebration of Jesus Christ's resurrection (we have an awesome GOD!) Saturday I actually put on a dress (believe it!) and we went to an outdoor wedding of one of Greg's coworkers, Katie. Everything was beautiful, the weather cooperated, the alcohol was flowing, Holly was dancing (shocker!), and we had a great time with basically a table full of admissions counselors and their wives (who knew).
Me and my honey looking very Springy.
Brooklyn and I, she has become a good friend quite quickly and I have to say I like that about her. She is married to Rich (below) who works with Greg. They were kind enough to invite us to spend Easter with his family in Ft. Lauderdale, and we were kind enough to go :)
As we were leaving the wedding we were kind enough to take some items off of the Groom's hands. Well he told everyone to take a few bottles of wine that were just sitting by the door (a good 150 bottles). Greg and Rich had a hard time counting to a "few" and the sad part is with the back of our car filled with bottles there was not even a dent made in the Groom's stash. (there are some bottles in the tripod box too... boys.)
So when you come to visit we will have to make a toast!

Lake Trail Fun (Greg)
Tonight Holly and I took a trip to the Lake Trail on Palm Beach for a little jaunt with the pup. Holly went to get some good exercise with a long run, and Mya and I went on a little photo-safari. I must say, that taking nightscape photo's while wrangling an over excited puppy does not present itself overly fruitful with great shots. None the less, heres what I came up with:

So i get all these great shots and then Holly comes trotting down the trail wanting me to get a shot of THIS:

With a location like Palm Beach, FL you'd think she'd find more interesting shots than a SLUG. It ended up pretty interesting none the less. So that was our evening travels. Good night!

Next Big Thing
What are you looking forward to? What is your next big thing? Sometimes it is so easy to get caught up in the just living stage of life and there seems to be nothing really out there to look forward to. So as I am in a stage of "living" I am trying to be positive and look forward to the next big thing. For Greg and I, I think it would have to be finding a new place in June. We are looking for a bigger place, one with a good kitchen (one with no washer and dryer in it), possibly a garage, who knows the possibilities are endless. I hope we can find what we want (once we can narrow that down a little more) but they are telling us that it is still to early to look, so for now we just look forward to it.
Also, as the seasons slow I am beginning to look forward to my June and July off. Well kinda off, I am working camps but that is extra $ and I get to travel to TX for the NATA conference and see Schlitz and others from Hope and WMU all on PBA's tab. So that is making me happy.
But what do you look forward to, what gets you day to day when you feel like you are just "living." I hate just living! You have to be growing, and moving, and headed toward something like a rushing stream. Don't just stick where you are and start to get stagnant, moldy and full of rats, like that pond behind our condo ;)

Hot, Humid, and Spring?
Spring in FL is really unlike anything I have experienced. The leaves are falling (no joke they are now turning brown and falling), the air is HOT and HUMID (like over night), and there is almost this constant looming of a potential storm in the air. The only thing that is remotely familiar is the duck family we spotted on our way to church yesterday. They were crossing the road to get to the pond, a few of them had a hard time jumping the curb but they did it.
We managed to get out and play some tennis yesterday in the glorious heat. We brought Mya out to chase some balls and run around. She had fun and we realized that after not playing for a year playing a real game is well...a joke. Poor Bo this morning though has some raw paws and we think she got a blister on her pad from all that running, or the courts were too hot.
But while some of you are buried in snow the weather man is predicting possible record highs. Wahoo (NOT)! 90* would be a record. We shall see though, in the mean time I am thankful the AC works!

A week with Karen
Late last Saturday evening Greg's mom Karen came to town. His dad is at a trade show in California so it worked out quite well. Although Greg and I still had to work we had a good time, and Mya I am sure had a GREAT TIME.
Tuesday I did manage to take the day off and feeling in a productive mood despite the horrible thunder storms that were pounding the city I made Karen a tote bag (#3 for me) and I made myself a cover for my Bible.
I like the big bold colors and flowers on this fabric, perfect for a cover.
Of course we managed to make it out to a few good restaurants, but not before Mya was treated with a gift of a chew toy Giraffe. (The hair was gone in 30 minutes, the next day it lost and arm, and by last night we cut off the head and limbs so it was just the woven fabric.) But Mya sure seems to by enjoying it.
Last night Greg had a great idea to go to a new restaurant in town called "the Melting Pot" neither of us had been there and we had heard it was good. It is a fondue restaurant. So we got a pot of cheese for the app, and tray of assorted meats and boiling broth to cook it in for the meal, and a pot of peanut-buttery CHOCOLATE for dessert. We were stuffed by the time we got out of there but was a fun way to eat that is for sure.
It was a fun evening, and a fun week. Karen heads home today and we will miss her but these are the memories that lives are made of. :)
