Happy Birthday to Holly! After spending virtually all day in the airport I hopped a cab and met Emily just in time to get to the local baseball game. I couldn't even tell you who was playing we just sat and caught up, watched a fowl ball make a beer explode into a child's face, and saw at least 5 HUGE carrier planes land behind the diamond at what we assume is an army base.
My birthday was over and it was time to get to the conference and learn a thing or two. My first lesson was about friction. In a matter of 5 minutes my heel had developed the worlds largest blister and it had popped before I even felt any sort of discomfort. For the rest of my trip it was flip flops and bandaids for me. OUCH!!!! The kicker is that those dress shoes were selected because of comfort and the had NEVER given me blisters. Figures.
I met up with Jen, Emily, and Cooper. Who each had friends there from undergrad and grad school. Convention is all about networking and catching up with old friends, and in my case making a few new ones. One night we went out to a Tex-Mex restaurant to "unwind" we figured a 60 oz margarita would do the trick.
You cant leave Texas without getting a picture taken with a cowboy...

What is funny is that I didn't "remember the Alamo" was in San Antonio until I looked out my hotel window and wondered what all those rocks were...
So needless to say on our last day there Emily and I had to check it out. Yup it has a great history but other than this building it is just a bunch of rocks and it was WAY TOO HOT to spend any great length of time there. The trip was great, I got a ton of free stuff, learned a thing or two, and got to talk athletic trainer for 4 days straight!
